CA H2o WATER CHALLENGE!
Cal Water and the North American Association for Environmental Education launched the fourth annual Cal Water H2O Challenge! Open to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classrooms located in a Cal Water service area, The Cal Water H2O Challenge invites students and educators to design and submit solutions to global or local water‐related issues. The Challenge is a project‐based competition that is complementary to Next Generation Science Standards. Participating in the program offers a unique chance for classrooms to develop and implement solutions for community‐based water issues.
After doing some serious research on Global Warming & the California Drought, Room 34 is ready to accept the CAL Water H2O Challenge.
Our goal is to:
- understand why droughts are probably going to be a permanent problem in California
- understand that shortage will probably create conflict between users
- educate our families and friends of this serious problem
- instruct others in the use of a water-saving device called drip irrigation, and make suggestions in properly laid out yards and systems.
Now was the time to share this challenge with the school... the PTO
